About Us

The Center for Rising Minds was founded by Niroshika De Silva, PsyD, with the philosophy that the treatment for children, adults, and families should include a holistic approach, as no individual is exactly the same. We believe that treatment Is most effective when providers from other disciplines collaborate in order to meet the needs of the whole individual.

In working with children, the goal of therapy is to support them to achieve their academic, social-emotional, and overall goals for optimal well-being and independence. Therapy can address feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, school stress, bullying, relationship problems, and social skills.

However, therapy alone sometimes isn't enough as the brain and body are complex entities. When children have the opportunities to work with other disciplines such as occupational therapists (OT) and speech and language pathologists (SLPs), co-occurring challenges such as inattention, hyperactivity, balance and coordination challenges, and speech difficulties that are impacting social and academic skills can be addressed. This allows for wellness goals to be achieved to its fullest potential.

At Center for Rising Minds, we provide services across the lifespan, recognizing that adults can experience similar challenges that would benefit from therapy, occupational therapy, or both. Adults are increasingly experiencing depression, anxiety, or are becoming aware of challenges such as lack of motivation and distractibility that has them curious about possibilities of neurodivergence.

Additionally, adulthood includes other challenges such as parenting stress, work stress, relationship challenges, or grief and loss. Through our services, we can work with you to create a treatment plan with techniques that are both sustainable and effective to help you live a fuller life and achieve your goals.
